How I Name

Briefing

We have an in-depth conversation about who you are, why you do what you do, your customers, your competitors, the names you love and hate, and how you keep your sanity. I develop a creative brief that outlines all that, what we’re naming, and what the name will convey. Once you approve, the magic begins.

Creative

If I told you exactly what happens here, you’d never live to tell about it, but think about my process like evolution. I develop hundreds of names in a wide range of styles and constructions, I handpick the fittest to survive, and you provide feedback. Subsequent rounds of naming use your insights to further focus the creative exploration until we have a healthy number of exciting finalists.

Screening

Using my background in the USPTO TESS trademark database and some scrupulous Googling, I tell you which finalists are available. You pick, we celebrate.
