Stedi

Did you know that the design for the common walker (the one you’re picturing in your head) was patented in 1953? Since then, it’s hardly changed at all. There have been other contenders, like the zippier rollator, but for those who require significant assistance in walking, standing, and balancing, they just get the midcentury standby. Its grey, clunky image essentially defines the pejorative ‘geriatric.’ Furthermore, it doesn’t always work, especially if the user starts falling backwards. Invented by a physical therapist who knew there was a way to make the walker more steady, and better at preventing falls, this walker really was disrupting the space. After an extensive exploration for a company and flagship product name, we secured Stedi, which connotes… exactly what it should – reliability, support, and approachability.
